Elderly Woman Struck & Killed Walking on Dark Highway

 

COLEMAN, TX – An elderly woman was struck and killed while walking in the middle of a rural highway in Coleman County Saturday night.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, on Aug. 5, 2023, at around 9 p.m., Texas DPS Troopers were dispatched to Highway 84 near County Road 108 for the report of a pedestrian walking in the middle of the roadway.

Unfortunately, before troopers could arrive on the scene, the pedestrian was struck by a 1995 Chevrolet K1500 pickup just 2 miles northwest of Santa Anna.

The pedestrian has been identified as Judith Harding, 83, of Santa Anna. She was pronounced dead on the scene by Justice of the Peace Vickie Kemp.
