Police Chase Results in Traffic Signal Destruction

 

SAN ANGELO – San Angelo Police are reporting the traffic signals at Glenna St. and the Houston Harte Expressway are out Tuesday morning.  

The SAPD sent out the following NIXLE alert at 6:17 a.m.: "Traffic Lights are out at Glenna and Houston Harte cross.  Temporary stop signs are up until repairs are complete."

The crash happened at around midnight -- or just after -- early this morning. According to a witness, the vehicle pictured was in a chase with police and attempted to drive down the steep slope to the Houston Harte Expressway. The sedan did not make it very far.

We have no official statement about injuries but an ambulance did depart the scene with emergency lights and sirens blaring.
