WATCH: Fire Destroys Building in Rowena Monday Afternoon

ROWENA, Texas – Volunteer Firefighters from Rowena and Miles were called out to a structure fire in Rowena Monday afternoon that destroyed a building in the downtown area.

Rowena is 27 miles northeast of San Angelo on US-67 in Runnels County between Miles and Ballinger.

Social media reports indicate the fire was in the old lumber yard building.

Images sent to the Miles VFD Facebook show a major structure fire underway and firefighters remaining after dark Monday to battle the blaze.

It is unclear at this time what started the fire or if there were any injuries.

This is a developing story.
