Man Killed on Road in Vancourt

SAN ANGELO, TX — Texas DPS was called to a tragic accident near Vancourt early Wednesday morning, May 22, 2024. Upon arrival, they discovered a man had been run over by a vehicle.

Over the radio, Airmed 1 was dispatched and witness told dispatch the man had a compound fracture on one leg with bone exposed. Wall Volunteer Fire Department was en route as news was being relayed over the radio. It was heard that the man was stuck underneath the vehicle.

DPS surrounded the scene with their vehicles as they investigated. Sadly, Airmed 1 was told to stand down and all EMS responders were told to no longer run with lights and sirens. The man had died, we heard.

At the scene, a cowboy hat was observed on the roadway.

The accident happened at around 10:45 a.m. Wednesday morning in front of the Rambouillet Rock Company in the 9600 block of York Road.
