Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash in Abilene

ABILENE, TX — An Abilene man was killed Monday when his motorcycle was struck by a pickup truck on Treadaway Boulevard in Abilene.

Skyler Fowler, 20, was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital, according to the Abilene Police Department.

A female passenger on his motorcycle was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

Fowler was wearing a helmet, but it’s unclear if his passenger had a helmet.

The pair was reportedly heading south on Treadaway Boulevard when a truck driving north attempted to turn left onto Butternut Street and struck the motorcycle.

Both occupants in the truck suffered only minor injuries.

The crash occurred about 10 a.m. Monday. Speed and lighting were deemed to be possible contributors to the crash, police said.

The crash is still under investigation.
