SAN ANGELO, TX — A juvenile was taken to the hospital after a head-on collision on 19th Street that occurred when a driver reportedly fell asleep at the wheel, according to police.
San Angelo police said a Chevy Blazer traveling eastbound on 19th Street veered across the center line and struck a westbound GMC Sierra on Monday, near the Pecan Street intersection. The driver of the Blazer told officers they fell asleep before the crash.
Both drivers were issued citations, police said. The Blazer’s driver was cited for driving left of center, while the GMC Sierra’s driver was cited for not having a driver’s license.
Only one person was transported for medical treatment, and no further details about the juvenile’s condition were immediately available.
