SAN ANGELO, TX — A two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Southwest Boulevard and Sunset Drive Wednesday left one person hospitalized and another checked by paramedics at the scene, according to authorities.
It happened around 3 p.m. Police said the collision involved a tan GMC pickup traveling eastbound and a maroon Ford Expedition heading westbound. A witness reported that the GMC was attempting to turn left onto Sunset Drive when it collided with the Expedition, which was traveling straight through the intersection.
Officers said it remains unclear which driver ran a red light. “Obviously, somebody disregarded a red light. I just don’t know which one,” the investigating officer said.
Due to the uncertainty over who had the right of way, no citations were issued. Paramedics assessed the Expedition driver on the scene, while the GMC driver was transported to a local hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.
Emergency crews initially reported possible entrapment, but officials later confirmed that no one was trapped in either vehicle. The crash remains under investigation.
