San Angelo Man Injured, One Dead in New Year’s Eve Crash

 

UPTON COUNTY, TX — A 21-year-old Arkansas woman was killed and a 30-year-old San Angelo man was seriously injured in a head-on crash on New Year’s Eve in Upton County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

It happened around 10 a.m. Dec. 31 on State Highway 349. A 2014 Nissan traveling southbound failed to stay in a single lane and veered into the northbound lane, where it collided head-on with a 2025 Ford F-250.

The driver of the Nissan, identified as Andrea Leeann Wright, 21, of Clarksville, Arkansas, was pronounced deceased at the scene. DPS said she was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The driver of the Ford, identified as Calton Gage Davis, 30, of San Angelo, was also wearing a seat belt and was transported to Odessa Medical Center Hospital with serious injuries.

DPS said the crash remains under investigation, and no additional information was immediately available.
