Vehicle Crashes Into Fence Near State Supported Living Center

CARLSBAD, TX — A sedan crashed into a chain-link fence near the state-supported living center in Carlsbad on Tuesday afternoon, after being struck by another vehicle.

The wreck occurred around 1 p.m. Medics initially requested the availability of Shannon Medical Center's AirMed1 helicopter but were later told to stand down after determining the situation was less severe than initially believed.

Texas Department of Public Safety troopers and Tom Green County sheriff's deputies responded to the crash. By the time a reporter arrived on the scene, the other vehicle had departed from the scene.

A tow truck later removed the damaged black sedan.

No information about injuries or the driver was immediately available.
