Vehicle Catches Fire on US 67

SAN ANGELO, TX — A vehicle fire caused traffic to slow down on US 67.

It happened around 1 p.m., near the intersection at Old Ballinger Highway.

A Nixle alert was sent out urging travelers to avoid northbound US 67 due to the emergency personnel working the fire. Radio traffic stated that the sedan was fully engulfed.

About 10 minutes later, at 1:16 p.m., another Nixle was issued stating that traffic lanes are now open.

The vehicle fire was out by the time reporters arrived on scene, and it is unclear if anyone was injured. The cause of the fire is also unknown.
