Crash Locks Down Traffic at Knickerbocker and Loop 306

SAN ANGELO, TX — A crash at Knickerbocker Road and Loop 306 on Thursday afternoon has closed down part of the intersection.

The crash occurred about 2:25 p.m. when two vehicles collided in the intersection near Southwest Plaza.

Both drivers claimed they had a green light, according to a traffic officer with the San Angelo Police Department. He said a DPS officer was following behind one of the vehicles when the crash occurred, and the officer’s dashcam footage could help determine which driver actually ran the red light.

A Honda minivan suffered front-end damage, and an occupant in that vehicle was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

A Chevy pickup involved in the crash was missing a tire from the collision.

Traffic headed toward Lake Nasworthy was blocked off and being redirected onto Loop 306.
