Comanche Man Dies in Single-Vehicle Crash

 

COMANCHE, TX — A 68-year-old Comanche man died Sunday after suffering a medical emergency that caused his pickup truck to veer off State Highway 16, enter a barrow ditch, strike a fence and roll over about 10 miles north of town. 

Robert Allen Burks was driving a 2004 Toyota Tundra northbound on SH 16 around noon when the crash occurred, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. 

He was wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

No other vehicles were involved and no one else was injured. 

Weather conditions were clear and the road surface was dry. 

The posted speed limit in the area is 75 mph.
