Two San Angelo Apartments Hit by Vehicles This Week

SAN ANGELO, TX - Two car crashes involving apartment buildings have occurred so far this week.

The first one happened on Monday, May 25, around 6 p.m., when a vehicle crashed into an apartment at the Bellagio at Sunset Apartment Complex, located off Sweetbriar Drive. That crash left the driver hospitalized and a tenant displaced.

According to a report, the driver was leaving a nearby fast food establishment and was traveling at a "high rate of speed" down a driveway before jumping a curb. The vehicle then went airborne and slammed into the apartment building.

The vehicle drove through a wall and completely entered the apartment.

The next crash happened the following night on Tuesday, May 26. According to police, a vehicle struck The Landing Apartments located off Arden Road.

Police said that the driver of the vehicle was also a tenant of the building and failed to report the crash, and is now part of a hit-and-run investigation. No injuries were reported from this crash. Alcohol is believed to have been a factor.
