Traffic Halted After South U.S. 67 Crash

 

Update: At about 7:50 a.m., northbound and southbound lanes of South Highway 67 have been reopened to traffic.  

SAN ANGELO, TX — Both lanes of South U.S. Highway 67 closed Thursday morning after a major vehicle crash, the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office reported. 

The call came through at about 5:30 a.m. near Hobbs Road, according to the Dove Creek Volunteer Fire Department. They advised drivers to seek alternative routes and expect delays in the area. 

Emergency dispatch audio reported the crash as a rollover with injuries. The number and extent of the injuries were not immediately known. 

First responders worked the scene, halting traffic in the area and causing severe backups. At 5:46 a.m., the sheriff’s office issued an alert also advising motorists to seek alternative routes and slow down. 

The investigation continues as of early Thursday.
