Traffic Stop Turns Into Gun and Drug Bust in Odessa

A traffic stop turned into a big weapons and drug bust in Ector County, according to a local news source in the area.

Deputies pulled over a car with three people inside on FM 1936. One passenger, Travis Green, was recently discharged from parole.

According to the Sheriff's report, the deputy saw an assault rifle in the back floorboard, which contained 38 live rounds. Green told the deputy that he had a .40 caliber handgun inside the center console.

Because Green is a convicted felon, he is prohibited from being around any firearms.

The report stated the driver, Timmy Perrin, also admitted to having a .50 caliber handgun between the front driver's seat and console. The deputy stated it was loaded with five live rounds.

Methamphetamine was found in Perrin's coat pockets during a search.

Officers also found methamphetamine in the pockets and purse of another passenger, Lydia Collins.

Perrin and Collins face drug charges while green faces a weapons charge.
