Eagle Pass South Border Patrol Agents Apprehended Convicted Murderer at the Border

DEL RIO, TX - U.S. Border Patrol agents with the Eagle Pass South Station arrested a Mexican national previously convicted of murder.

According to a press release, on Nov. 25, at approximately 3 p.m., Border Patrol agents at the station apprehended 41-year-old Juan Robles-Espinoza near Eagle Pass.

"During processing at the Eagle Pass South Station, agents discovered that Robles-Espinoza was convicted of murder in Fort Worth on July 11, 1995 and sentenced to 12 years in prison," said officials. "Immigration checks show that Robles-Espinoza was deported to Mexico in 2006, and again in March 2016."

Robles faces a charge of re-entry after deportation, and his prior order of removal will be reinstated said the release.

“Preventing dangerous criminals, including convicted murderers, from entering our country illegally epitomizes the important work our men and women do every day,” said Del Rio Sector Acting Chief Patrol Agent Matthew Hudak. “I commend our agents for their hard work and dedication.”
