Sheriff’s Deputy Finds 10 Pounds of Marijuana During Quail Valley Traffic Stop

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- On Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 10:28 p.m., Tom Green County Sheriff’s Deputy Raul Polanco initiated a traffic stop on a 2016 Ford Focus for a traffic violation on Runion Road in Tom Green County. 

The vehicle was being operated by Logan Gaitan.  As Deputy Polanco approached the vehicle and was interviewing Gaitan, he could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. 

A probable cause search of the vehicle was initiated and approximately 9.8 pounds of marijuana was found in a card board box in the back seat of the vehicle.  

Gaitan was booked into the Tom Green County Jail for the offense of Possession of Marijuana over five pounds and under fifty pounds, a third degree felony offense. 

Justice of the Peace J. P. McGuire magistrated Gaitan on Sunday, July 23, 2017. Gaitan was released from custody after posting a $10,000 bond.
