Pair Attempts to Smuggle Illegal Aliens in Tom Green County

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – A pair of women from Houston were indicted in January for driving through Tom Green County with a car full of illegal aliens.

According to court documents, on Nov. 1 at around 4:45 p.m., a trooper with the Texas Department of Public Safety was on patrol on US 87 and observed a white Chrysler going 82 in a 75 mile per hour zone. 

The trooper pulled the vehicle over and first spoke with the driver Noemi Olguin-Herrera and found out the car was a rental. He noticed that all the windows in the back of the car were covered up. 

He then spoke with the passenger who identified herself as Gloria Manzanarez. 

After searching in the back of the vehicle the trooper discovered Cristobal Perez-Deyader, Wilber Cruz-Lopez, and Manuel Chulin-Mendez, all undocumented immigrants, in the back seat of the car.

The trooper learned that the two woman were smuggling the illegals for $1,000.

The two women were arrested and charged with Smuggling of Persons. The men were handed off to the US Border Patrol and were deported.

Olguin-Herrera was released from the Tom Green County Jail on Nov 2. She was indicted on the charge on Jan. 7 and has a post indictment hearing scheduled for Feb. 10.

Manzanarez was also charged with possession of marijuana. She was released form the Tom Green County Jail on Nov 2. She was indicted on the charge on Jan. 7 and has a post indictment hearing scheduled for Feb. 10.
