Wanted Fugitive Killed In Officer Involved Shooting

 

ODESSA, TX — The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force confirmed a suspect was killed during a shooting on Friday afternoon.

According to the LSFTF, officers were in Odessa attempting to arrest a suspect wanted for a bond violation.

Agents determined the suspect, who has not been identified, was located at the Comfort Inn.

After locating the suspect, shots were exchanged between officers and the suspect.

The suspect was shot and officers rendered lifesaving aid until he could be transported to the hospital. The suspect ultimately succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

No officers were injured in the shooting and the Texas Rangers are investigating the incident.

The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force is a combination of local, state and federal law enforcement officers who work with the U.S. Marshal's office in locating and apprehending known fugitives.
