Toddler Thrown Into Rio Grande by Smugglers

 

ROMA,TX- Two weeks ago Texas Department of Public Safety troopers and U.S. Border Patrol agents saves a six-month-old baby girl and her mother.

From March 16, South Texas Region DPS posted to its facebook page that a six-month-old baby girl was thrown from a raft by smugglers crossing the Rio Grande.

The mother was also found and had a broken leg due to smugglers.

The current status of the mother and daughter is unknown.

“This specialized group is a highly trained tactical team whose primary responsibility is to carry out specific missions, usually along the Texas-Mexico border region or wherever needed,” the Facebook post said. “The team is designed to conduct both overt and extended covert operations in remote areas where conventional law enforcement cannot operate.”
