SAN ANGELO, TX – Veronica Perez has been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon after she stabbed her victim 7 times with a pair of scissors.
On April 10th, 2021, Tom Green County deputies responded to the San Angelo State Supported Living Center in Carlsbad, TX due to a reported stabbing that took place.
Upon arrival, law enforcement found the victim being treated by medics for multiple stab wounds and then the victim was transported to Shannon Medical Center for treatment.
Two employees both provided statements to deputies. One saw Perez attack the victim and the other saw the two fighting. Both wrote there was blood all over the ground after the victim was assaulted.
Law enforcement also obtained another written statement from another employee. That statement indicated that they saw Perez with the scissors and after that stabbed the victim in the back. The statement also read that Perez told the victim she would kill her. The employee went on to say the victim’s pants were soaked in blood after being stabbed.
The deputies talked with the victim of the stabbing who said Perez attacked her. Surveillance video from the San Angelo State Supported Living Center showed Perez stabbing the victim multiple times.
Review of medical records show the victim had three puncture wounds in the left leg, three puncture wounds to the left arm, and one wound to the back.
Veronica Perez was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and is not currently an inmate at TGCDF as she was released on $30,000.00 bond.
