Man Indicted for Possession of Controlled Substance

 

SAN ANGELO, TX- Arturo Jose Vasquez was indicted by a Tom Green County grand jury in April for Possession of a Controlled Substance 1 >=4G<200G.

On February 22nd, 2021, a DPS officer conducted a traffic stop on a 2013 white chevy pickup for speeding on US-87 and MP:444 in Tom Green County.

The officer noticed the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Law enforcement asked Vasquez how much marijuana he had and he admitted to having 1 gram.

A search of the vehicle was conducted and 1 plastic bag containing marijuana was discovered and one blue pill marked “M” on one side and “30” on the other. This pill was identified as oxycodone.

Vasquez was informed that he was under arrest for the marijuana and oxycodone. This wasn’t the end of their finding. Vasquez said he had more oxycodone in his pants pocket in a pill bottle. 193 pills were discovered inside the bottle.

Searching the vehicle also uncovered a pistol under the front seat. 

Vasquez was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawfully carrying a weapon and Possession of Marijuana. 

He also received a warning for speeding.

Arturo Jose Vasquez was booked into the TGCDF on February 23rd, 2021 and posted a $40,000.00 bond the same day. Vasquez is not currently an inmate at the TGCDF.
