San Angelo Man Threatens to Shoot Cheating Wife at Foster Park

SAN ANGELO, TX – A man enraged over his wife's infidelity caused chaos last Monday at Foster Park near Dove Creek.

According to court documents, on May. 30, deputies with the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to Foster Park for the report of shots fired.

When they arrived at the park they went to a travel trailer and met with a woman who had an argument with her husband. She told officers that her husband, Scott Collard, arrived at the trailer and began yelling and cussing at her.

She told officers that Collard was angry at her due to her infidelity. During the fight Collard allegedly grabbed a pistol and shot it in the air. After firing the weapon he threw the pistol into Spring Creek.

After he got rid of the pistol he dumped gasoline on the woman and threatened to kill her. He then fled back into town and to their residence to get the assault rifle "he paid for," states the affidavit.

A witness who was also at the park but was staying in a tent by the trailer told deputies that he heard one shot. He also heard Collard yell "I'm gonna shoot you" and "I'm gonna end your life right now" during the argument. He also heard Collard threaten to set his wife on fire.

At the time of the incident Collard was on deferred adjudication for felony injury to a child with intent. He will now face six years in prison for that charge.

Due to the incident listed above Collard was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. His bond is set at $200,000.
