20-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed by Drunk Driver

 

ODESSA, TX – Odessa Police have made an arrest in connection to a major crash that occurred last night in Northeast Odessa. Hector Vasquez, 35 years of age, has been charged with Intoxication Manslaughter.

According to the ODP, on June 14, 2021 at approximately 10:24 p.m., Odessa Police responded to 42nd Street and Englewood in reference to a major crash involving a motorcycle. Investigation revealed that a black & red Kawasaki motorcycle, being operated by Thomas Hall, 20 years of age, of Midland, was traveling eastbound on 42nd Street.

A white Dodge Charger, being operated by Hector Vasquez, was traveling northbound on Englewood. Investigation revealed that Vasquez ran a red light before being struck by the motorcycle. Hall was transported to a local hospital and later pronounced deceased by medical personnel. Next of kin were notified.

Investigation revealed that Vasquez was intoxicated. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Vasquez was charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the ECLEC. The investigation continues.
