Fugitive Suspect Who Escaped Custody in Odessa Hospital Captured

 

ODESSA – A 30-year-old suspect is behind bars again after temporarily escaping from custody in Odessa.

According to the Ector County Sheriff's Office, Victor Antonio Coca was initially arrested after a pursuit. Coca was transported to Medical Center Hospital to be treated.

While receiving treatment, officers removed Coca's handcuffs, and he managed to escape.

A heavy police presence was visible in downtown Odessa as authorities searched for Coca.

According to the U.S. Marshals Service, Coca was apprehended and transported to the Ector County jail.
