San Angelo Police Release More Details on Armed & Dangerous Standoff Thursday Morning

SAN ANGELO, TX –– The San Angelo Police Department has released additional details in the stand-off that occurred Thursday morning.

According to SAPD, at approximately 7:53 a.m officers were dispatched to the Stripes at 1616 Howard St for an unknown problem.

When officers arrived at the scene they met with the complainant and learned the suspect, identified as 45-year-old Curtis Moore, had threatened the complaint with a firearm and had discharged it at a neighboring home.

Officers also learned that the incident stemmed from a domestic disturbance earlier in the day regarding Moore and another family member where officers had been unable to make contact with Moore.

After speaking with the complainant, officers went to a residence in the 1200 block of Howard St to continue the investigation. Upon speaking with the neighbors they learned their home was struck with a bullet.

Officers then attempted to make contact with Moore and established a perimeter around the home due to the previous incident involving a firearm.

After some time officers made contact with Moore via phone and convinced him to surrender peacefully.
