San Angelo Man Indicted for Stealing Christoval Woman's Trailer

SAN ANGELO – A San Angelo man has been indicted by a Tom Green County grand jury for stealing a trailer from a Christoval resident.

According to court documents on January 9, 2022, a Tom Green County sheriff deputy met with the victim at the 19000 block of Man Street in Christoval, Texas regarding a theft. The victim reported that an unknown individual or individuals took her 2019 black enclosed utility trailer from her business.

10 days later on January 19, 2022, an investigator met with the victim and she claimed that Wiley Yater Davis took her trailer. The woman was contacted by a witness who had Ring Doorbell footage that showed a black Ford F-250 taking the victim’s trailer between 12:26 a.m. and 12:49 a.m.

The next day, on January 20, 2022, a special investigator with the Tom Green County sheriff’s office received information that the vicitm’s trailer was located at J&J Services, located at 5238 Christoval Road in San Angelo. The owner of the business was not present at the location and several calls were attempted without success.

The investigator obtained a search warrant for J&J Services and when the building was searched, the victim’s trailer was found as well as assorted tools and personal papers.

On January 25, 2022, the owner of J&J Services was interviewed by investigators. The owner said that Davis was using the building for his fencing business and provided a phone number to the defendant.

A computer search was done on the phone number on February 2, 2022, and showed the carrier as ATT Mobility with Wiley Yater Davis’ name. A search warrant was drafted and emailed to ATT Mobility which confirmed Davis was in the area during the time of the theft of the trailer.

Davis was booked on February 12, 2022 and was released on $7,500.00 bond.
