San Angelo Police Release Details of Thursday Morning Stabbing

 

SAN ANGELO – A San Angelo man is in custody following a stabbing at a downtown day rehabilitation center and the victim is recovering.  

As we reported earlier, San Angelo Police were dispatched to 128 S. Magdalen for the report of a stabbing.  

San Angelo Police Department Public Information Officer Richard Espinosa released the following information Thursday afternoon: Around 9:15 Thursday morning, San Angelo Police officers were dispatched to 128 S. Magdalen (Bluebonnet Day-Hab) in reference to a stabbing. Upon arrival, Officers located a 22-year-old man who was suffering from an apparent stab wound on his face. The victim was transported to Shannon Downtown by SAFD Medics with what was believed to be a non-life threatening injury.

Officers learned that the suspect 23-year-old Kristopher Jones knew the victim and that a verbal dispute between the two had led to the stabbing. It was also learned that Jones had fled the scene prior to officer arrival and his whereabouts were initially unknown.

SAPD’s Criminal Investigation Division assisted with this investigation and eventually located Jones walking in the 600 blk of N. Bell St. Jones was taken into custody and was ultimately charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
