Suspect in 2018 San Marcos Fire Identified

 

SAN MARCOS, TX — Developing news out of San Marcos. 

The San Marcos Police Department has called a press conference regarding the 2018 San Marcos Apartment Fire. It is believed that an arrest has been made regarding the fire that killed five people including one from San Angelo. 

The two impacted by the fire from the Concho Valley were Haley Frizzell who was killed while the fire seriously burned Zachary Sutterfield. For the original story see: Two San Angeloans in Devastating San Marcos Apartment Fire.

Haley was attending Texas State University and was a 2017 graduate of San Angelo Central High School. Zachary was also a 2017 Central High School graduate who at the time attended Angelo State University but was planning to transfer to Texas State University in San Marcos in the fall of 2018. He was staying with friends in the apartment when the fire broke out.

The press conference is scheduled for 2 p.m. on July 6, 2023.

UPDATE 10 P.M. 
A mugshot for the suspect has been released. 
According to multiple reports, 30-year-old Jacobe De Leon OShea Ferguson has charged Arson resulting in Bodily Injury or Death.
