Carlsbad Meth Dealer Avoids Prison Time in Plea Deal

 

SAN ANGELO— A San Angelo man has taken a plea deal for the manufacture/delivery of meth to avoid going to prison.

According to court documents, on January 27, 2021, a consent search of a business located on the 10000 block of U.S. 87 North in Carlsbad owned by Montie Dwayne Fisher. During the search, a controlled substance was found inside the office of the business.  Law enforcement agencies suspended the search and secure the property.

A search warrant was obtained for the business.

During the search warrant execution, an unspecified quantity of a controlled substance was found along with packaging baggies, a digital scale, cell phones, and illegal firearms. The substance tested positive for methamphetamine.

Fisher admitted to residing at the residence and owning the business and the desk in which the meth was found. Fisher was arrested on January 27, 2021, and bonded out on January 30, 2021, and was indicted on May 6, 2021.

In exchange for a guilty plea, Fisher was sentenced to 10 years deferred, a $3,000 fine, and $180 in restitution.
