Fugitive Tased While Evading Arrest

SAN ANGELO— A Ballinger man was indicted in August by a Tom Green Co. Grand Jury for running from law enforcement with a previous conviction and active warrants.

Quinton Christopher Collins, 40, has been indicted by a Tom Green County grand jury for Evading Arrest or Detention with a Previous Conviction.

According to court documents, on June 1, 2023, Collins was located walking westbound on East 37th Street and was known to have active warrants for his arrest. Tom Green County Sheriff Deputies were notified of Collins’ location, who walked into a residence located on Garden Street.

Deputies contacted the residence and confirmed Collins was inside. He was observed exiting the house through the back of the residence and began fleeing the deputies. Collins ran southbound through an alley and was tasered by a San Angelo Police Officer, after which he was placed into custody.

Collins had open Runnels County warrants since June 2021 and another warrant out of Tom Green County that was issued in November 2021.

Collins was booked into the Tom Green County Jail on June 2, 2023, for his evading warrants. He is currently an inmate being held on $161,300.00 bond.
