Teen Student Indicted for Terroristic Threat Against School

 

SAN ANGELO— A San Angelo high school student has been indicted as an adult for making a threat towards A high school.

Evan Moss ,17, has been indicted by a Tom Green County Grand Jury for making a terrorist threat towards TLCA San Angelo High School after bringing a handgun to school.

According to court documents, on April 27, 2023, San Angelo police were dispatched to an area high school for a report of a subject with a weapon. When officers arrived, the school had been placed in lockdown and the defendant, identified as Moss, was not at school.

Two detectives went to the 5200 block of Enclave Drive and met with Moss’s parents at their house. Moss was on his way to his home and when he showed up, was detained. Two photos were reviewed with one that showed Moss’ Snapchat username and the other that showed a hand on a handgun in a holster with an American flag design with the caption, “Come to School”. The second photo was also posted to Moss’ account within the prior 24 hours. Moss’ father identified the weapon as his property.

Then, Moss was interviewed after he waived his Miranda Rights. There, Moss allegedly admitted that he did attend this school and that he attended school that day. He was then shown the first photogragh that had his username, which he confirmed was his. After he was shown the second photograph with the handgun, he ended the interview and was then arrested.

Another individual that was at the school reported the images on Moss’ Snapchat to the principal. The principal feared for everyone’s safety, especially the students, and locked down the school.

Moss was arrested on April 27, 2023, and booked into the Tom Green County Jail for making a terroristic threat against a school . He was released on April 28, 2023, on $20,000 bond.
