Austin SWAT Team Takes Down Disturbed Man Armed with 2 Knives

 

AUSTIN, TX - An overnight SWAT situation in North Austin has concluded, according to the Austin police. The incident unfolded on Wednesday at 4:27 a.m. when authorities responded to a disturbance on North Plaza near Rundberg Lane.

A family member called 911 to report that a suspect, in an altered mental state, was holding two knives and preventing anyone from leaving the residence. One family member managed to escape the apartment.

In an attempt to resolve the situation peacefully, police and mental health officers engaged in negotiations with the suspect for an hour. Subsequently, SWAT was called to the scene.

Two SWAT officers executed entry, encountering a combative suspect who was ultimately safely detained. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the resolution of this incident.
