DPS Comm: Wall Elementary Locked Down After Pursuit

WALL, TX - Wall Elementary was on lockdown after a driver appeared to be evading arrest at a high rate of speed on U.S-87 Monday morning according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Department of Public Safety communications reported the driver of a black Lexus passenger car was clocked at 83 MPH heading towards San Angelo and was not stopping for the DPS Trooper attempting to pull him over.

Spike strips were in place on Loop 306 and US-87 to stop the car, but the driver pulled over voluntarily before reaching them.

The DPS officer requested that Wall Elementary School be placed on lockdown for precautionary measures.
