UPDATE: Reward Now Offered for Grape Creek Burglary Suspect

GRAPE CREEK, TX - The Grape Creek Volunteer Fire Department is now offering a financial reward for information leading to the arrest of a man who broke into the VFD building.

The suspect has been dubbed, “The Lake Gardens Bandit,” named after the old Lake Gardens meat processing plant, which houses the Grape Creek VFD.

It happened on May 9, at 11:27 p.m. when the unauthorized individual entered the building located at 8325 US HWY 87 N.

After realizing a hunting camera snapped a photo of him, he stole the camera and left the property.

The Grape Creek VFD said that they had recently mounted a hunting camera inside the building after a recent break-in at the building earlier this spring.

The unknown individual(s) who initially broke into the building removed copper materials from all of the interior and exterior electrical components.

If you recognize the person or have information that could lead to the arrest, contact San Angelo Crime Stoppers at (325) 658-HELP (4357) or download the P3 Tips App.

“If you have information that leads to the identification and arrest of this subject, we want to put money in your pocket,” Grape Creek VFD stated. “Remain anonymous and get a reward.”
