Former School Employee Faces Federal Charges for Lewd Child Imagery

ABILENE, TX — A former employee of an Abilene private school, charged with possession of child pornography and possession of child pornography with intent to deliver, is scheduled for a detention hearing in federal court this week.

Mark Eichorn, 27, was initially arrested by Abilene Police in early May following an investigation. Authorities discovered lewd images of children on his cell phone, leading to the charges. Eichorn posted bond and returned to his hometown of New York City, New York.

The investigation involved collaboration between the Abilene Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and the U.S. Marshals Service. Eichorn was re-arrested on federal charges on June 6.

Eichorn's detention hearing is set for Thursday, June 13, at 10 a.m. at the Federal Courthouse, located in the downtown Post Office building at 341 Pine St. The hearing is open to the public.
