Local Predator Gets Plea Deal and Deferred Adjudication

SAN ANGELO, TX— A San Angelo predator has taken a plea deal for indecency with a child by exposure.

According to court documents, Colin Blanek, 37, of San Angelo, has pled guilty to indecency by exposure to a child.

On November 5, 2022, a man contacted the Schleicher County Sheriff’s Office and said that his teenage daughter had run away from home and was missing. The SCSO conducted an investigation and was unable to locate the child.

That same day, the Schleicher County Sheriff’s Office received information that the child had logged into her Snapchat account and the GPS pinged at the 6400 block of Chalimar Road in San Angelo.

On November 6, 2022, a Tom Green County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to the address on Chalimar Road and located the child and Blanek inside the residence. When the deputy asked where the “other girl” was, Blanek said it was “complicated," and then said she wasn’t at the house.

The Tom Green County Sheriff’s Deputy transported the missing child back to Schleicher County.

Another deputy contacted the investigator on November 6, 2022, and stated the child, who was missing, made an outcry about a sexual assault that had occurred while she was at the residence on Chalimar Road. The child victim said that Blanek had sex with her multiple times.

Investigators met with the child victim at Shannon Hospital where a "SANE" exam and a toxicology exam were conducted. The victim said that Blanek had given her methamphetamine to smoke while at the residence.

The victim said Blanek sexually assaulted her and another girl several times. The child victim also said that Blanek knew she was a teenager and that the other girl who was there was Blanek’s “girlfriend."

On November 9, 2022, a forensic interview was conducted at the Hope House with the child victim who stated that she had been communicating with Blanek’s “girlfriend” via social media. The two drove to Eldorado, Texas, and picked up the child victim at her house at 5 a.m. then drove back to Blanek’s house in San Angelo.

The victim said that once at the Chalimar residence, the three smoked methamphetamine in a glass bowl that was provided by Blanek. Then, the child victim stated that Blanek had “sexual intercourse” with both girls throughout the day.

Also on November 9, a search warrant was executed and Blanek and his “girlfriend” were leaving the residence together and were detained. During a search of Blanek’s residence, a quantity of meth was located along with several glass meth pipes.

Blanek was interviewed and he allegedly admitted to driving to Eldorado picking up the child victim and bringing her back to his residence. He also admitted to sexually assaulting the child while there.

Blanek was arrested for two counts of sexual assault of a child and one count of possession of a controlled substance.

According to court information, on June 20, 2024, Blanek was charged with one count of indecency with a child by exposure and one count of manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance.

In exchange for a guilty plea, Blanek was sentenced to eight years deferred adjudication for indecency with a child by exposure.

If I ever decide to become a criminal, I'm moving back to San Angelo because after the police or sheriff dept. catches me I would have no fear of any real punishment.
