LAREDO, TX — A 20-year-old man was arrested after police say he attacked his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend in an early-morning confrontation that ended with a stabbing.
According to the Laredo Police Department, Christian Fonseca went to his ex-girlfriend’s home around 1:48 a.m. Friday and began jumping on the hood of her new boyfriend’s car. The commotion prompted the boyfriend to go outside, leading to an altercation.
Officers said Fonseca allegedly attempted to barge into the woman’s home before engaging in a scuffle with her boyfriend, during which he reportedly stabbed the man. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Police located Fonseca several houses away after being called to the scene by the woman.
The Laredo Morning Times reported that Fonseca was already under a criminal trespass warning following prior harassment complaints. Court records show he was previously arrested in August for resisting arrest and criminal trespass and had been released on bond.
Police charged Fonseca with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He remained jailed without bond as of Monday.
