SAN ANGELO, TX - The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office is requesting assistance from the public regarding an on-going child sexual abuse investigation involving Sammy Ray Soto, age 56.

In early October 2025, the Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at a residence on 45th Street, where thousands of child pornography images and videos were located in the possession of Sammy Soto.

Sammy Soto was arrested on Oct. 07, 2025, for the state felony charge of Possession of Child Pornography.  Since then, an additional federal charge has been issued, and a US Marshal hold placed against Sammy Soto.

During the investigation, several victims were identified and interviewed regarding potential child molestation and other felony child sex crimes, which Sammy Soto is accused of committing in the early 2000's time frame.

"The Sheriff's Office would like to report to the public that in the early 2000's, Sammy Soto was a janitor at Grape Creek ISD, and was also a drummer in a local band at the time," information stated.
