Texas Rangers Investigating Death of Toddler in Haskell County

 

HASKELL COUNTY, TX — The Texas Rangers are assisting the Haskell County Sheriff’s Office in investigating the death of a 22-month-old child who suffered a gunshot wound Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a 911 call was received around 3 p.m. from the child’s mother. Sheriff’s deputies and EMS met her while she was en route from Weinert to Haskell Memorial Hospital, where the child was transferred to an ambulance for emergency treatment.

The child later died at the hospital. Authorities have not released additional details, and the investigation remains ongoing.
