Drunk Man Arrested After Early Morning Assault With Box Cutter

SAN ANGELO, TX — A San Angelo septuagenarian has been arrested after coming home drunk and assaulting a man with a box cutter.

Anacleto Segura, 75, was arrested by the San Angelo Police Department for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

According to court documents, in the early morning hours of Dec. 29, 2025, San Angelo police were called to the 100 block of East 8th Street regarding a domestic disturbance about 3 a.m.

An officer told the investigator that Segura arrived home very intoxicated and began arguing with his wife. During the argument, Segura’s wife was able to run upstairs and lock the bedroom door to avoid any confrontation with him.

Shortly after, the victim arrived to check on his mother’s welfare because he had cameras inside the home and was able to observe the argument between her and Segura. The victim and his mother went downstairs and saw that Segura fell on the floor because of his level of intoxication.

Then, Segura stood up, brandishing a box cutter, and began walking towards the victim. Segura lunged multiple times at the victim, who began throwing cushions at him, going so far as to flip the coffee table to disarm him. The victim punched Segura twice, causing him to fall again and drop the box cutter.

After this, Segura walked out through the front door, and police arrived shortly after.

Segura’s wife was interviewed, and she stated that Segura came home around 2:30 a.m. and was so drunk he was falling all over the place. She opened the side door because he could not find his keys. When she was going upstairs, Segura would not let her get by and was throwing chairs at her and moving the dining room table in her way.

Eventually, she made it upstairs and called police.

Segura was arrested and booked into Tom Green County Jail.
