SAN ANGELO, TX — Information has been released after the theft at Tri Star Fleet, and the suspects have been arrested.
Armando Francisco Castro, 29, and Justin Wright, 28, were arrested and charged with theft of property after allegedly stealing a 4-wheeler from Tri-Star Fleet, 701 Knickerbocker Road.
According to court documents, on Dec. 21, 2025, San Angelo police responded to a report of a theft of a 2014 red Yamaha 4-wheeler that was discovered missing by an employee.
Numerous surveillance video clips were obtained from Tri-Star, Action Pawn and a residence across the street. The video from Tri-Star showed that around 2:36 a.m., two suspects were observed wandering onto the Tri-Star property. One of the suspects climbed the fence and began walking through the lot of golf carts, ATVs and 4-wheelers.
He then opened the gate and drove a red Yamaha 4-wheeler off the lot, and it was last seen driving south on La Cruz Street. The other suspect appeared to assume the role of “lookout” and could be seen walking near the front of the business and interacting with his accomplice.
Security footage from a residence on La Cruz Street was reviewed, and in it was a unique and distinct older model Ford Expedition. The vehicle could be seen circling the area prior to the theft.
The investigator learned that a Tri-Star employee went through days of video and found that about three days before the theft, the defendant, identified as Castro, arrived at Tri-Star in the same Expedition and actually inquired about the Yamaha 4-wheeler. Castro allegedly spoke to employees about the vehicle but ultimately left without purchasing it.
With the help of the San Angelo Police Department’s Crime Analysis, the investigator learned that the Expedition was involved in an incident through the officer’s body camera that the vehicle is owned by Wright.
A tipster went to the police station and said that they saw a news article online concerning the 4-wheeler theft and mentioned that their brother’s friend had listed a 4-wheeler for sale on Facebook. The profile attempting to sell the vehicle provided a picture of Castro, and the tipster provided a text thread with him.
On December 30, 2025, Wright, who is the co-defendant, was arrested and in an interview, he allegedly confessed to jumping the fence and stealing the 4-wheeler. He also explained that he was paid $200 about three days after the theft. Wright also said that the “look out” was in fact Castro. He then stated that after driving the vehicle away from the scene, Castro loaded it into his vehicle and fled.
Castro was arrested on Jan. 1, 2026, and was released later that same day on $20,000 bond. Wright was arrested on Dec. 30, 2025, and was released on Jan. 2, 2026, on $20,000 bond.
