San Angelo Man Arrested for Shooting Truck and Threatening Driver

SAN ANGELO, TX— A man has been arrested after shooting a truck, allegedlyy in a fit of rage over a woman.

Gavin Mikeska, 21, of San Angelo, was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

According to court documents, on Jan. 31, 2026, at 12:35 a.m., the investigator was dispatched to the 600 block of Cedarwood Road regarding an unknown 911 call. While driving to the scene, the investigator spoke with the victim and briefly gathered some information about the victim’s truck being shot. During this conversation, the victim advised that he intended to pursue criminal charges against the suspect, identified as Gavin Mikeska. 

The investigator met with the victim at a different location on Stone Meadow Lane. A large hole from a gunshot was observed on the victim’s vehicle. 

Mikeska, the victim, and two other individuals were reportedly carpooling from Lubbock back to San Angelo and stopped on Cedarwood Road so Mikeska could shower. Then, the group decided to go “clubbing” afterward. Before they could leave for the evening, the victim and Mikeska were arguing about a woman and, during that argument, the victim and the other two people decided that Mikeska would not come with them.

Before the victim could drive away, Mikeska allegedly produced a handgun and fired a “warning shot” in the air. The victim stopped and said Mikeska approached the driver's side of the truck. There, he allegedly pointed a loaded 9mm handgun at the victim’s chest and demanded respect. As the group was trying to calm the situation, Mikeska apparently refused.

Then, the victim reportedly drove away and Mikeska fired a second shot at the driver side rear tire but missed. As the truck traveled further, he fired a third shot and struck the back passenger door, right behind where one of the individuals was sitting.

Mikeska was mirandized and allegedly told deputies that he knowingly shot a round at the vehicle that was occupied by three others. He was arrested and transported to the Tom Green County Jail. Mikeska was booked on Jan. 31, 2026, and was released later that same day.
