San Angelo Man Arrested After Drunken Sexual Assault at Local Concert Venue

SAN ANGELO, TX — A San Angelo man has been arrested after allegedly sexually assaulting a woman at a concert at Cooper’s BBQ Live in Christoval.

Isaac Rodriguez, 28, was arrested by the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office and charged with sexual assault.

According to court documents, on April 25, 2026, around 10:45 p.m., a deputy with the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office responded to Cooper’s BBQ Live, located at 20809 South U.S. Highway 277, regarding a sexual assault. The deputy met with the victim who stated that a man, identified as Rodriguez, had sexually assaulted her during the concert.

The victim said she and her friend were approached by Rodriguez and that he made sexual advances towards the victim’s friend who denied him. A short time later, Rodriguez placed his hand inside the back of the victim’s shorts and underwear to touch her without her consent. The victim turned around quickly and told Rodriguez to leave her alone. Then, the victim spoke with a male friend who confronted Rodriguez while she went to get help from Cooper’s security.

On April 28, the investigator spoke with the security officer that was working that night at Cooper’s. The security officer stated he was informed of a man having issues with other individuals in the crowd. As he approached, he witnessed the altercation between the man, who was intoxicated, and Rodriguez, who had two friends with him, and got involved.

The security officer removed Rodriguez and his two friends from the concert, and they were the only individuals that had to be removed the entire night, he said.

On April 29, the investigator received information that Rodriguez was working at a “local store located in the 1900 block of Sherwood Way." There, Rodriguez was interviewed and he confirmed he was at the concert on April 25. Rodriguez was also informed that he was not in custody and he could terminate the interview at any time. After he said he understood, he stated that he drank alcohol before and during the concert that night.

Rodriguez stated that he did not remember the concert, the physical altercation or getting home. He did state that he was with two friends and one of them told him that he had been “rubbing up” on some women in the crowd. Then, a physical altercation occurred where he was “laid out” before being removed from the venue by security. Rodriguez again denied knowing what had happened.

That same day, the investigator spoke with one of Rodriguez’s friends who was with him at the concert. The friend said he was standing behind Rodriguez in the crowd and that two women were standing in the front row with Rodriguez directly behind them. The friend said that the women turned around and exchanged words with Rodriguez, but he could not hear what was said due to the loud music.

About 5 to 10 minutes later, the women turned around again and more words were exchanged. He then witnessed one of the women turn towards a group of men standing next to them, and one of the men moved to stand in front of Rodriguez. Then, a physical altercation occurred between the man and Rodriguez as one of the women walked out of the crowd. The friend then stated that he, Rodriguez and another friend were removed from the concert.

The investigator spoke with the victim’s friend who was with the victim at the concert. This witness stated that Rodriguez had touched her as well. During the concert, the witness said she turned to Rodriguez and told him to leave her and the victim alone. While doing so, Rodriguez attempted to touch the victim. The witness said she could not see if Rodriguez had touched the victim, but a short time later the victim turned to her and was crying. The witness said the victim told her that Rodriguez had placed his hand in her pants and sexually assaulted her.

The victim went to get security, and Rodriguez and one of her male friends had gotten into a physical altercation as they tried to get Rodriguez to leave.

Rodriguez was arrested on April 30 and booked into the Tom Green County Jail for sexual assault. He is being held on $35,000 bond.
