Santa Anna Police Arrest 3 After Threats Made Against Students

SANTA ANNA, TX — Santa Anna police arrested three individuals after violent threats were made against students.

According to information released by the Santa Anna Police Department, the incident took place on May 14, 2026, at about 9:20 a.m.

A press release states that the Santa Anna Police Department and the Coleman County Sheriff’s Office were contacted by Santa Anna ISD staff regarding a reported threat against students involving multiple individuals allegedly planning to carry out a shooting at the school.

"This matter was immediately investigated and remains under active investigation," information from the department stated. "At this time, three arrests have been made. We will continue to pursue every credible lead provided."

Chief of Police Ryan Tucker stated that he is aware that students may be sharing information with their parents, and that parents may be attempting to compare details or gather additional information.

"We ask the public to rely on verified information and to avoid spreading unconfirmed reports," he stated. "Our City Park remains safe, and the Funtier Days event, including the World Championship Bison Cook-Off scheduled for Friday through Saturday, will proceed as planned. Law enforcement officers will be present throughout the duration of the event to help ensure public safety.

"If you have direct physical evidence, such as photos or videos, please contact us immediately," the information continued to state. "Unverified secondhand information can hinder the investigation process and prolong resolutions."

Tucker thanked the Santa Anna ISD staff for their "prompt response and dedication," as well as the Coleman County Sheriff’s Office, Coleman County and District Attorney, Texas Rangers, Brown County Sheriff’s Office, and Early Police Department for their assistance in this case.

"I also want to recognize the Santa Anna students who came forward with information," Tucker stated. "The Santa Anna Police Department remains committed to protecting our community and ensuring the safety of all residents."
