SAN ANGELO, TX — The father of a woman who allegedly shot, stabbed and dismembered a man has been released from the Tom Green County Jail after posting bond.
Mario Troncoso, 54, of San Angelo, was charged with helping his daughter, Audrey Troncoso, dispose of the body of Roland Matthew Sheppard.
On June 24, 2026, Audrey Troncoso was arrested after she reportedly confessed to the murder by shooting Sheppard in the face, stabbing him until he was deceased, then using knives and a saw to dismember his body.
According to court documents, Mario Troncoso helped his daughter mix human remains in concrete and dispose of the torso in a dumpster at the victim's apartment complex.
Online speculation claims that Audrey Troncoso killed Sheppard due to him sexually abusing her child, but San Angelo Police Chief Travis Griffith did not confirm a motive at a press conference. Griffith stated, “There is a known motive, but we will not be releasing that at this time … we want to make sure we establish a clear motive and not just one that has been reported by the suspect.”
San Angelo LIVE! will update the story when and/or if a motive is released by SAPD.
Audrey Troncoso, who has been charged with murder, is still currently in the Tom Green County Jail being held on $2 million bond.
