Joint Operation Leads to Four Felony Arrests

AUSTIN, TX — Four men were arrested earlier this month in connection with a June home invasion in San Antonio following a joint investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Bexar County Sheriff's Office, authorities announced.

The arrests occurred July 8 after Texas Rangers began assisting the Bexar County Sheriff's Office in locating Rodney Robinson III, 21, who is suspected in connection with a June 15 home invasion in northeast San Antonio.

According to DPS, investigators used information gathered during the investigation, including automated license plate reader data, to identify an apartment complex near Ranch-to-Market Road 2222 and McNeil Drive in northwest Austin where Robinson was believed to be staying.

At approximately 12:45 p.m. July 8, Texas Rangers and DPS Criminal Investigations Division special agents observed Robinson leaving the apartment complex in a vehicle with another individual. DPS troopers attempted to stop the vehicle, but authorities said Robinson fled, leading officers on a short pursuit.

Troopers ended the pursuit by using a Precision Immobilization Technique, commonly known as a PIT maneuver. DPS said Robinson then fled on foot before being apprehended after a trooper deployed a Taser.

Robinson was arrested on charges of evading arrest with a motor vehicle, along with outstanding warrants for evading arrest with a vehicle, unlawful carrying of a weapon and possession of marijuana.

The passenger, identified as 23-year-old Devion Sommers, was arrested on an outstanding murder charge in a separate case, as well as charges of burglary of a habitation with intent to commit another felony and engaging in organized criminal activity.

Later that day, Texas Rangers SWAT officers executed a search warrant at a third-floor apartment within the complex. According to DPS, two additional suspects attempted to escape by climbing down an exterior balcony but were located and taken into custody.

Authorities identified the men as Nehemiah Pratt, 21, and Kentrell Guillory, 19. Both were arrested on charges of burglary of a habitation with intent to commit another felony and engaging in organized criminal activity. Guillory was also arrested on an outstanding murder warrant from Louisiana.

During the operation, investigators recovered 11 firearms and illegal drugs from the vehicle and apartment, according to DPS.

While Sommers, Pratt and Guillory remain in custody, DPS said Robinson was released on bond before additional felony warrants related to the June 15 home invasion were issued in Bexar County. Authorities say he remains at large.

Robinson is described as 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing about 140 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. DPS considers him armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information on Robinson's whereabouts is urged to contact law enforcement. Anonymous tips may also be submitted through the iWatchTexas website or mobile app. Authorities advise anyone who encounters Robinson to call 911 immediately.

The charges against Robinson, Sommers, Pratt and Guillory are allegations, and each is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
