Suspect Charged with Murder After Fatal Shooting in Odessa

 

ODESSA, TX — A 42-year-old man died after being shot early Sunday in west Odessa, and a suspect was arrested later that day and charged with murder, the Ector County Sheriff’s Office reported Monday morning. 

Deputies responded about 1:45 a.m. Sunday to a report of shots fired in the 13000 block of 42nd Street. Additional calls about four minutes later reported that someone had been shot. 

Deputies found Aaron Jordan, 42, and provided medical aid until paramedics arrived. Jordan was taken to Medical Center Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Next of kin has been notified. 

Investigators responded to the scene. Later Sunday, Eduardo Sotelo was arrested and booked into the Ector County Detention Center on a first-degree felony murder charge. 

The investigation remains ongoing. The sheriff’s office said no additional details were immediately available.
