ASU Symphony Orchestra Presents First Spring Concert

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — The Angelo State University Symphony Orchestra will present its first concert of the spring season on Saturday. The Symphony Orchestra will perform in the Murphey Performance Hall at 72 W. College Ave. in downtown San Angelo on March 2.

Titled "The Symphony Goes to the Movies," the concert will begin at 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public. The program will feature music from famous movie soundtracks, including:

  • "Also Sprach Zarathustra" from "2001: A Space Odyssey"
  • "Symphonic Suite" from "Lord of the Rings"
  • "How to Train Your Dragon"
  • "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them"
  • "Pirates of the Caribbean"
  • "Mars" from "The Planets" by Gustav Holst
  • "Symphonic Suite" from "Star Wars"

The ASU Symphony Orchestra includes over 40 student musicians, and this concert is being directed by Dr. Constance Kelley, professor of music.
