San Angelo LIVE! Kicks Off LIVE Twisted Christmas Story Contest

There’s nothing like a great Christmas story, and San Angelo LIVE! is looking for talented writers in San Angelo and the surrounding areas to submit a 350 to 1,200 Christmas story with a twist. By twist, we mean taking a well-known story and giving it an original twist in the beginning, middle and/or end of the story.

A great example of a Christmas story with a twist is Santa Got Ran Over by a Reindeer. Of course, the twist has to be original and modern. Additionally, the story has to be written in good taste. We want writers to have fun and to create a story that will make our readers laugh, cry and fill them with holiday cheer.

Story submissions will be accepted through 12 p.m. on Dec. 22. San Angelo LIVE! Editorial staff members will choose three winners who will win cash for Christmas. The first place winner will win $100, the second, $75, and the third, $50. Plus, all stories will be featured on the San Angelo LIVE! website.

Submissions should be sent to [email protected], and they must meet the following criteria:

  • Stories should be 350 words minimum and 1,200 max.
  • Single space stories, but double space between paragraphs.
  • Submit story in a .doc or .docx file.
  • Provide a submission cover sheet that includes the story’s original title, word count, your name and contact information.

If you have any questions about the contest, submissions or submission guidelines, please contact me at (325)340-1239.
